The Florida Period - 1927-33

The Founding of BJC and BJA - A successful evangelist is called to found a school.  A campus and funds become available in Florida.  In 6 years circumstance force the schools to move.  

BJA in Florida - The BJC Preparatory Department opens as a military prep school.  Uniformed cadets face strict discipline and high academic standards in co-ed classes.   

Student Life in Florida - BJA students participate in virtually all College activities, including sports, societies, fine arts groups and other organizations.   ​

The Tennessee Period - 1933-47

BJC and BJA in Tennessee - After a difficult arrival, God blesses the schools.  A benefactor helps campus growth.  World War II causes an influx of students and the necessity of moving again.

BJA Student Life in Tennessee - School growth diminishes the opportunities for Academy Students.   

The Early South Carolina Period  - 1947-53

Arrival in Greenville - How the school was able to build a campus in 13 months.  Without the Quadrangle, where did Academy students fit on the campus?

BJA's Beginning in Greenville - Once settled in Greenville, BJA began to lay foundations for student opportunities and activities that would be separate from the University.  .

Founding of Bob Jones Junior High School  - Coming.

Laying Broader Foundations  - 1953-64

Academic and Organizational Growth- Exceeding the states' academic requirements and mirroring BJU's organizational structure, BJA became a leader in Christian high school education.

Growth of Extracurricular Activities - .With the founding of Academy Societies and the Inter-Society Council, BJA student life became richer.  The Academy's sports program, its fine arts opportunities and its school newspaper, the Triangle, flourished.
