Academy Record Announcements in Support of Operation Beautification

The Student Body Organization wrote these announcements to be read on the Academy Record to encourage BJA students to support Operation Beautification by participating in Quarter Week.  Principal George Youstra and Assistant Principal James Munroe gave permission for these announcements.  February, 1974.

Monday - Now for the saga of Young Mr. Munro and the cedar tree.  One day as little Mr. Munro walked into the Quadrangle he saw a mighty cedar tree just behind the Academy Main’s doors.  Remembering that Santa had given him a chair saw for Christmas, he quickly ran back to his office to get it.  What will he do?  Stay tuned to the Academy Record to find out.  Until then, give a quarter to Operation Beautification.  .

Tuesday - Continuing the drama of young Mr. Munro and the cedar tree.  Today we see his mighty chain saw tearing away at the annual rings of xylem.  Will he get into trouble.  Will he have to pay for the tree?  He may need your help.  Operation Beautification does.  Give to Quarter Week.

Wednesday- Young Mr. Munro has just cut down the mighty cedar tree behind the Academy Main Building.  Having heard the noise, Dr. Youstra comes into the Quadrangle.  Then he asks the legendary question. "Munroe, did you eat your carrots?"  Will Dr. Youstra see the fallen tree?  Did Mr. Munro eat his carrots?  Did you give to Quarter Week?

Thursday:  Then Dr. Youstra sees the fallen cedar tree behind young Mr. Munro.  "Behold, a fallen cedar!" says Dr. Youstra. "Who could have chopped it down?"  Will young Mr. Munro tell the truth?  Why must this stupid story continue?  Because several students have not yet  given to Quarter Week.

Friday: Now the final episode of the saga of young Mr. Munro and the cedar tree.  In answer to Dr, Youstra, young Mr. Munro replies: "I cannot tell a lie.  I didn't eat my carrots."  All good things must come to an end, and so does Quarter Week.  Results of this week's giving will appear in the next Triangle.
